Local Law Enforcement
Approximately 50 cars have been smeared with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's municipality of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, according to law enforcement.
Automobiles, building surfaces and mailboxes were vandalized, occasionally with swastikas, they stated in a statement.
Officers report they were contacted in the late hours on Wednesday, when a man noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been covered with a reddish liquid.
The fluid had been drawn in the shape of a Nazi symbol, they reported.
Officers then located many other vandalized automobiles and building exteriors in the nearby vicinity.
These symbols are prohibited in Germany under laws banning the public exhibition of Nazi-era symbols.
Law enforcement report initial examinations suggest the liquid was most likely human blood.
"Currently there is no clue as to its source; investigators are presently not aware of any injuries in relation with the incident," they stated.
Municipal representatives said they were trying "to unravel the incident" and have appealed to the residents for details.
A senior official said the vandalism left him stunned and had to be solved rapidly.
"This act hits the core of Hanau and reopens the wounds of the far-right attack in 2020," he stated on a platform, recalling the killing of nine individuals by a gunman focusing on people of migrant background in five years prior.
